4) Set Up Pages
In VisiOlo, you will set up a specific Page element for every web page you want to track in your selling system. This gives you complete control over which pages go into your sales system statistics. It also makes it very easy to use VisiOlo on dynamically-generated web pages such as PHP-driven systems. You don’t need to have any special programming skills, just the ability to copy and paste some HTML code into every page you want to track. When using VisiOlo with dynamic PHP sites, just put the code into the template page for the pages you want to track.
This is where your system map comes in very handy. For every page in your map, you will want to set up and configure a page in VisiOlo. After you tell VisiOlo what you want to call the page, what type of page it is, what the MDA is for that page and how to know the MDA happened, and what system the page belongs to, all you need to do is copy and paste some special javascript code into the HTML of the page.
1) Navigate to Pages
2) Click Add/Edit Page
3) Name Your Page, Select a System
4) Select Page Type
- Select ‘Standard Page’ if this page is neither an offer nor a goal page
- Select ‘Goal Page’ if this page is only reached by visitors who either opted-in or bought something. If you select ‘Goal Page’ you will be presented with a drop-down box that allows you to select a goal to associate with this page or create a new one.

- Certain pages in your sales process can only be reached if a visitor opts-in to your list or buys your product.
- For opt-in goals, the goal page is usually the ‘thank-you’ page that visitors see after they opt-in or after they confirm their email address. NOTE: there is a special way to handle goals pages for these ‘opt-in confirmation’ types of pages. If you use a double opt-in process like this, make sure you read the special instructions available on the ‘get code’ page — you will want to use the ‘force goal’ option.
- For sales goals, the goal page is the download page for the product or the thank you page that customers see after they buy your product.
5) Write Brief Description, Describe MDA, Copy and Paste URL
About the URL Field
- URL is an optional field, but very useful for future reference. It will help you quickly remember which web page you set this record up for — when you have many ‘Pages’ created in VisiOlo, this comes in handy.
- If you are using a template-driven website, you may want to link directly to your template so you can quickly view the content of the page.
